LEAP Award…

leap.gif Every quarter, my department gets together for a meeting to discuss company news, major projects, etc. Part of this meeting also includes service awards, praising certificates and something we call LEAP awards. Praising certificates are typically handed out for something someone did that was helpful or appreciated by someone inside or outside of the company. LEAP awards are generally given for something that was considered over and above. It’s important to let someone know you think they are doing a good job and that what they do is important and matters.

Having said that makes me stop and ask myself this question, “Am I so free about giving praise to God that tells Him how much He means to me?” If I am so careful to make sure I praise someone for helping me with a task at work, why am I so careless about praising God for the many wonderful gifts and blessings He has given me, or simply praising Him for who He is? Certainly God deserves our LEAP award (if you will) for giving us so much over and above what we deserve; His grace, His love and His promise of eternal life through the gift of His son Jesus.

Psalm 150

Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.

Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.

Blessings,
David.

    Greetings. Indeed God is worthy of all praise and aoration simply because “he is.” he is from everlasting and to everlasting. Thanks for a good post for pondering.
    Have a blessed day in Christ.
