Tragically the church, has become primarily entertainment driven and as a result true worship has little place. This post is a good reminder for all of us to search our hearts concerning this matter. I share your love of music and worship and couldn't agree more with you and the other authors assessment of most church "worship" services. Worship is not going to church and listening to a preacher. It is not being entertained by a choir or praise team. It is not even singing along ( though it can be )... Worship is coming before the Lord for no other reason than to adore Him; tell Him you love Him; stand in awe and wonder at His majesty and well, worship! Whether in song, with our words, our tears, and simply with our hearts as we bow speechless before Him. I've had enough of entertainment; of relevance to the point of compromise; of sacrificing truth and holiness to get numbers; of playing church, of going to church, rather than being the church. We need to worship Jesus not only as the crucified Saviour, but as the RISEN, LIVING Saviour!!! Well, I better hush before preaching a sermon in your comment section...
